Wedding Planning Checklist - Your Wedding To Do List

The lists of jobs to be done and things to be organized keep growing when you’re planning for your wedding. Sometimes we even end up with lists on scraps of paper, inside little not books, and quickly remembered notes are jotted down in diaries.

Friends, colleagues and family, kindly hand us notes detailing vendors they can recommend or provide us with telephone numbers and email addresses for everyone from bakers to dressmakers! Suddenly, the wedding plans feel overwhelming, disorganized, and you might get muddled because you can’t remember whose whom. You need order, and help. Tidy, organized wedding planning checklists are what you need.

Sit down at your computer or with an A4 notebook, have a ring binder and punch at the ready, and write down a list of the thirteen main ingredients of every wedding. They are, Ceremony; Reception/Banquet; clothes and accessories; flowers; Wedding Cake; Invitations; Photography; Transport; Hair and Make Up; Entertainment; Gifts and Favors; Accommodation; Honeymoon. Opposite each of these on your list, write the cost allowed for according to your budget.

You have just made the main list for your wedding planning and this list forms the basis for your entire batch of wedding planning checklists. Save this page for consulting, and head up new pages with the titles of each category you just listed at the top of each page.

Under each title list what’s required for the category. For example, under Flowers, you could type, ‘Bride’ and underneath, ‘Bouquet, Throwaway, Headpiece, Going Away Corsage’, and so on until all the flowers needed for each person is on the Flower Checklist.

The Reception Checklist notes everything from menus to tablecloths, the Entertainment Checklist should note choice and times of music, etc. and together, these categories provide you with the entire set of wedding planning checklists you need. By the time you tick them all off, you’re well organized wedding day will be approaching fast.
